Freelancers: Simplify Your Taxes with Accountable - The Ultimate Tax Solution

Freelancers: how are you doing your taxes this year?

If you follow me on Instagram or subscribe to my newsletter, you most likely know that I’ve tackled a variety of short and long term projects this year.

From starting new projects to a new company to expanding my team of freelance workers, I basically set myself up to have the most complicated tax year ever.

However, that was before I heard of Accountable. Now I’ve never dedicated an entire blog post to talk about my experience with a single service, but this is a service that is:

  • Relevant to my audience which consists mainly of freelancers and entrepreneurs residing in Germany.

  • Helped me out with filing taxes, and I had a wonderful experience.

  • A service that several of my colleagues and friends have tried so I know it’s not just a fluke.

Let me know if Accountable helped you out too!

Tax season in Germany has never been easier with Accountable.

In this post I’ll break down my favorite parts about Accountable, and point you in the right direction if you have a specific tax question.

English Friendly

A language barrier can be tough. I’m fine with speaking German, but I still prefer to conduct business and money matters in English. Many of my freelancing friends aren’t fully comfortable with their German yet, and partnering up with Accountable has made things much more straightforward than having to find a reasonably priced English-speaking tax advisor.

Affordable

After doing taxes for ten years in Germany, I’ve got to say Accountable gives you the best bang for your buck. For as low as €7.50 a month you can have access to things like:

  • Partner tax consultants

  • Real time overview of VAT prepayments and personalized tax tips

  • Income tax declaration directly to the tax office

  • Income surplus calculation for income tax

Just to name a few. What I appreciate most is their transparency. You can choose to just pay for the services you need or sign up for one of their monthly or yearly programs for full time support when you need it.
If you know you really just need to get one document checked, you can slide in and get it done for just €2.50.

Efficiency:

I’m a busy person, and I don’t like wasting my time. Even if you’re not a busy guy or gal, you don’t deserve to have your time wasted. I found with so many previous tax advisors there would be endless back and forth with long response times that ultimately led to me having to spend more money on other services to get the job done.

With Accountable I’ve been very impressed by the efficiency, with their customer service and tax reps answering my queries the same business day, sometimes even responding in less than an hour.

Online Accessibility

I used to get such anxiety waiting for my tax advisor to respond to my email or schedule to meet with me in person. Being able to handle everything via the Accountable app, and get in contact with support ASAP really sold Accountable for me.

Paperwork feels much less overwhelming if it’s all easy to access in one place.

Plus it was nice to not have to meet up with anyone in person. I’m busy, and I prefer to take care of things as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Easy to Understand

Similar to Accountable being easy to access online, they’re also easy to understand. Very straightforward, to the point, and efficient!

Range of Services

Although I’ve only been using Accountable to file my taxes they have a great selection of services including help with tax audits, assistance with starting as a freelancer, and document checks.

I talked about Accountable in a Facebook group and two of the women ended up signing up for Accountable and using their “Profit determination for landlords” service to officially prove their income then buy and rent their flat.

Modern

Anyone who’s moved to Germany can probably tell you that German culture is not as tech forward or modern as some might assume. It takes time for things to upgrade and change here, and many aspects of bureaucracy can be slowed down as a result of these slower updates. (I love Germany, but I’d also love to pay for my morning coffee with a debit card!)

Accountable is already pretty modern as far as tax advisory companies in Germany go, but they’re only continuing to expand and better themselves! I love how intuitive the process is, and look forward to it getting easier for years to come.

The Bottom Line

Easy billing and accounting, all in one place. You can try out Accountable for free today. I’ve raved about Accountable so much that they’ve gifted me an affiliate link that will get you a 14 day free trial to test out their services. It’s simply an easier way to do taxes.
